Ann is a graduate of Georgetown University and Widener School of Law. Ann Duke and her husband founded Duke & Duke, PC in West Chester in 1993. The firm had a corporate practice, and Ms. Duke developed an estate and succession planning practice as well. During that time, Ms. Duke also served as a Republican committeewoman then began working on various campaigns. She served as the county coordinator for Mike Fisher for Attorney General, and she served as Issues Director for the Joe Pitts for Congress campaign. Ms. Duke ran for West Chester Borough Council in a ward where registered Democrats outnumbered Republicans significantly. Shortly before her election to Borough Council in 1997, her husband passed away, leaving her the single mother of four small children. She served actively as a Borough Council member, chairing the Finance & Budget Committee and the Planning, Zoning and Industrial Development Committee. During her tenure as a Borough Council member, Ms. Duke never voted for a tax increase and insisted upon spending cuts.

Ann Duke joined other investors to found a local bank in 1999 and took an active role on the Board of Directors. In 2005, she became a Senior Vice President and General Counsel where she managed the bank’s retail and online operations, as well as compliance and legal affairs. During her tenure, the bank successfully developed a new market area and grew deposits 27%. She oversaw development of a new interactive website which combined ease of use, high-level security, and market appeal. She developed an electronic policies and procedures manual which allowed employee access and continuous updating. She also oversaw the bank's legal issues, including trademark and employment issues.

In 2000, Ann married William Long III, and became the step mother of his three children.

In 2007, Ms. Duke joined the firm of Knapp, McConomy, Merlie, LLP in order to return to practicing law. In August, 2009, she was named one of Main Line Today's Top Trusts and Estates attorneys. She is currently seeking the office of Chester County Treasurer.
